INTERNATIONAL CITIZEN SERVICE (ICS)

ICS is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to work as a volunteer on a development programme overseas. Funded by the Department For International Development (DFID) and run by some of the most respected organisations fighting poverty through volunteering, ICS is the U.K foremost global volunteer programme for young people.

As an ICS volunteer you will spend a life changing 10-12 weeks working directly alongside local volunteers on projects that have been specifically chosen to ensure that the energies and skills young people bring can make a direct impact on poorer communities. When your work placement is finished, ICS will help you to use your experience to make a positive difference at home.

It is a developmental programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Uk volunteers work side by side with local volunteers in developing countries, staying with host families in the local community. ICS isn’t a holiday. Its demanding but hugely rewarding. it is a great opportunity for personal development, a stepping stone to future careers and a chance to make your world a better place.

You don’t need cash, skills or qualifications to apply for ICS just the ambition to make a difference.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
1. 18 to 25 years old can volunteer
2. 23 to 35 years old can be team leaders
3. UK government funded
4. Placements in Africa, Asia and Latin America
5. Working with local volunteers and communities
6. Staying in host homes
7. No qualifications required.
